Good afternoon,
Just a quick update from Ian and Bonner's mom :-) We had a great visit with the pediatrician this morning. Bonner weighed a little over 18 lbs and Ian, over 21 lbs. So amazing. The doctor's words regarding Ian were "He looks magnificent." Of course, as his parents, we agree! And, we must admit that Bonner is pretty cute, too!
I am working to get all of the pictures from Saturday night's bash into one place and then I will post the link here. If you took any pictures, I would love to have them. Either post them to Facebook or just email them to me as soon as you can. If you post them to FB, just send me a message so I'll know to go look for them :-)
We are so blessed to have survived these past 12 months and are so thankful to be celebrating with 2 healthy children. We go back to the cardiologist sometime in September, but until then, no doctor's visits are scheduled. I plan on starting a new blog for everyone to follow our lives from here on out. I'll send the link once I have it set up!

July 28, 2009 - from CaringBridge
Hey everyone,
We are just about to pass out from being so sleepy but mommy told us to come in here and make sure we told everyone about our birthday. It has been very busy around here for the past week. Mommy came back from her vacation on Tuesday so she could be with us on our birthday, last Wednesday. We were good for our Gam-Gam while mommy and daddy were gone but we were excited to see mommy when she got home.
Daddy's mommy, Nanny, came to see us on our birthday and we had a great day. We went to the new Children's Museum they are opening here in Greenville and then went out for pizza. It was yummy. Nanny even surprised us with some ice cream for dessert.
Nanny kept us Thursday while mommy ran her errands. And then, daddy came home from his airplane ride. We giggled alot when he got home. On Friday, our great-grandmother, Memaw, came to see us for the very first time. She brought 2 of our aunts, too, Aunt Claudia and Aunt Kathy. Our cousin Michael even came for the visit. Mommy cooked dinner so we could enjoy our first taste of birthday cake at home. It was so yummy. Here are some pictures from our "first" party Friday night!
We had to go to bed early on Friday so we could rest up for the big party on Saturday. Mommy had been talking to us about this thing called a part-ee. We were not sure what to expect but, man, we wish we could have one of those EVERYDAY!! We had so much fun. And there were so many people there to celebrate with us. Mommy got us each a giant cupcake and we dug right in. I (Ian) went right for the icing, but it took Bonner a minute. The fire on the #1 scared Bonner, but once she tasted a little bit of the icing, she dug right in, too. Of course, mommy told us to try and watch our manners but all we could do was watch all the cake go into our mouths. And, Bonner was much better at watching it than me. As you can see, I liked acting out that thing ya'll do some times called "Pat-a-Cake". After we were finished with our cake, mommy put me in the sink and sprayed me down. Bonner just needed a little napkin to wipe her off.
We changed into our bathing suits and went for a good swim. There were lots of other children in the pool with us so that made it fun. After that, we were pretty sleepy so it wasn't long before we went to bed. It was so much fun, though. And there were so many people there that mommy had told us about. We loved all of the attention!

Well, we better go to bed; mommy said that we have to go to the doctor in the morning. It's just a check-up but Bonner overheard mommy tell daddy, "They might have to get some shots!" We don't know much at our young age but we definitely know all about "shots" - OUCH! I am sure that mommy will update tomorrow with the details of our 1-year checkup!

Good morning everyone!
We got up this morning about 9:30 a.m. and just finished our breakfast! We finally have our sleeping down pretty good. Last night was rough but we both had gas because of some ice cream the boys that work with daddy gave us! It was so YUMMY (we just love that word)! It's been so long since we sent you a message, but mommy keeps us on the go!
We are doing good; we love to crawl around, play with all of our toys, pull ourselves up, and steal each other's sippy cups! We aren't walking yet; mommy says that she is no hurry and we can go much faster on all 4s!
We are getting ready for our first birthday party and hope that everyone can make it! It's Saturday, July 25, at 5 p.m. at the clubhouse in our neighborhood (Spaulding Farm). The pool will be refreshing and there will be lifeguards to watch over the kids swimming. Our favorite restaurant, Lazy Chicken, is going to cater so there will be plenty of food for everyone. And, of course, LOTS of cake and ice cream!!! PLEASE COME CELEBRATE THIS PAST YEAR WITH US!!
We heard mommy on the phone with the nice people in Charleston this week and then she told us why she was so excited! The TV in the Pediatric Cardiology ICU just went on the fritz so they are going to use our donations to help with the cost of the TV! So that means, DEFINITELY, no gifts! We already have so much stuff to play with and Ian loved watching TV while he was recovering from surgery so we are glad to help the other children down there! Not sure what this means but mommy asked us to type it "You can make checks payable to MUSC PCICU"! There will be some piggy banks at the clubhouse for your donation, if you can and want to do it! $5 will go so far in this situation!
Mommy did take us to the doctor's this week, but thank goodness we didn't have to see any doctors or nurses. Mommy was just curious how much we weigh because it's been so long since we had to go to the doctor. Ian weighs 21 lbs and Bonner, 18 lbs .... can you believe it? Scrawny little Ian is now 3 lbs heavier than his favorite sister, moi :-)
Mommy told us this morning that she and daddy are going on va-ca-shun (not sure how to spell that word just yet) tomorrow. It's somewhere very sunny called Port-o Reek-o and mommy is excited to read books that don't have any pictures in them! But don't worry, mommy will be home in time for our first birthday next Wednesday, the 22nd!
We hope to see everyone at the birthday party on the 25th! It's going to be so much fun! Mommy just yelled in to us to make sure that you send her an email and let her know if you will be able to join us so that there will be enough food! Her email address is on the right of this page!
